Built from experience.
Built for clubs.
OneSide Australia exists because the gap was real, the need was urgent, and the right expertise existed to fill it.
Over two decades of experience in public safety and child protection, working across some of the most complex and sensitive areas of community safety.
Active Child Safety Officer across multiple junior sporting clubs. Parent of children active in community sport.
OneSide was built from firsthand experience, not from the outside looking in.
A gap that needed filling.
Sporting clubs across Australia were required to meet a broad, complex set of child safe requirements, but the practical support to help them do it simply didn't exist. Generic frameworks, policy templates, and fact sheets were everywhere. A clear, achievable path built around how clubs actually operate was nowhere to be found.
Clubs were not failing for lack of care. Committees of volunteers give their weekends to make sport happen for children. They want to get child safety right. What they lacked was a practical, club-specific path to get there.
OneSide was built by someone who had seen that gap firsthand, from inside sporting clubs, not from a distance, and who had the expertise to fill it.
"Because when it comes to protecting children, there is only OneSide."
When it comes to the safety of children, there are no two sides to the debate. No competing interests, no grey areas, no reasons to delay. There is only one side, and it's the side of the child. That belief drives everything about how OneSide works.
"OneSide Australia is committed to working alongside sporting clubs nationwide to put the right structures, policies, and processes in place, because when the foundations are built correctly, a culture of child safety follows naturally."
We don't just identify gaps. We help clubs build the framework that makes genuine child safety possible, sustainable, and embedded in everything they do.
What we stand for.
Six values that guide every assessment, every training session, and every decision we make.
OneSide Australia acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and their continuing connection to land, waters, and community. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.
OneSide is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. We recognise that child safe practices must reflect and respect the cultures and communities of all children we serve.
